Pakistan condoles US senator John McCain's death

Islamabad, Aug 26 (IBNS): Pakistan's Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Sunday condoled the death of US senator John McCain.

"Thoughts and prayers of the people of Pakistan are with the family and friends of Senator McCain," the minister said in a statement as posted by the country's Ministry of Foreign Affiars.

"Senator John McCain had an illustrious military and public service career and was admired across the spectrum of US politics as a man of integrity and a champion of civility," the Minister said.

The Minister said the Senator will be missed in Pakistan.

"He will be greatly missed in Pakistan," he said.

The US Senator passed away on Saturday.

He was 81.
