Pak assembly voting on no-confidence motion begins

Islamabad: Voting for no-trust motion against the Imran Khan government has started in Pakistan's National Assembly, media reports said.

Doors of entrance into the hall of assembly hall are locked in order to prevent intrusions.

Though the session was adjourned for two minutes, it resumed and the proceedings began.

Pakistan PM Imran Khan has left the Prime Minister's residence, according to Samaa TV.

Meanwhile GeoTV reported that Pakistan Prime Minister's Secretary Azam Khan has been transferred and notification for the same has been issued.

Even as voting on no-trust motion against Imran Khan is going on, media reports said that a fresh session of Pakistan's National Assembly will be called at 2 am (Pakistan time) to nominate the new prime minister. The session will not be prorogued, the reports added

Shehbaz Sharif, who is former CM Nawaz Sharif's brother, is likely to be the new PM of Pakistan.

Amid the voting against, activists of Imran Khan's party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) reached outside the National Assembly.
