New Delhi:  Gilgit-Baltistan leader and activist Sajjad Raja on Saturday recalled the  invasion of Jammu and Kashmir by Pakistan on October 22, 1947 and said the day should be observed as 'Resistance Day'.

The activist posted on Twitter and said resistance will continue against Pakistan till it pulls out the army from the region.

"We shall commemorate 22 October as the #Resistance_Day. Pakistan invaded J&K on 22 October 1947 & divided it, but our #Resistance will continue till the day Pakistan is forced to pull out her army & all citizens from our state. ABIG NO to Pakistani occupation," he tweeted.

In its recent commentary, think-tank European Foundation for South Asian Studies (EFSAS), described Ocr 22, 1947 as the 'darkest day in the history of J&K'.

"It is about time that the people of J&K realized that the real tragedy is that Pakistan even today believes in the same policy and adopts the same methods that it did in 1947, no matter how acutely detrimental those may be to the interests and the well-being of the people of J&K," the commentary said.
