New York: Three people were killed and eight others injured after multiple gunmen opened fire inside a restaurant in Brooklyn’s Crown Heights neighbourhood early Sunday, The New York Times reported.

NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said the shooting occurred just before 3:30 am at Taste of the City Lounge, located at 903 Franklin Avenue.

The victims who died have been identified as two men, aged 27 and 35, along with a third person whose age has not yet been confirmed.

The eight injured were rushed to nearby hospitals, though officials did not provide details about their conditions.

Police said no arrests have been made so far, and the shooters remain unidentified. Investigators recovered at least 36 shell casings from the scene.

Footage shared on social media showed officers combing the restaurant, with broken glass and pools of blood visible as the investigation got underway.

The NYPD confirmed that the probe remains ongoing.

Taste of the City Lounge, which opened in 2022, offers American and Caribbean food, along with a full bar, hookah, and live DJ events.

The establishment, less than half a mile from the Brooklyn Museum, had closed at 3 am on the night of the incident.
