Netizens ask Elon Musk to step down as Twitter chief in poll conducted by him

Washignton: Netizens have asked Elon Musk to step down as the Twitter Chief in a poll conducted by him on the micro-blogging site.

In a poll conducted, Musk asked his followers: " Should I step down as head of Twitter? I will abide by the results of this poll."

While 57.5 percent of people voted that he should step down from the post, 42.5 percent of netizens said he should continue as the chief.

More than 17 million votes were cast in the informal referendum on his chaotic leadership of Twitter, which has been marked by mass layoffs, the replatforming of suspended accounts that had violated Twitter’s rules, the suspension of journalists who cover him and whiplash policy changes made and reversed in real time, reports CNN.

Musk, however, did not respond immediately to the result of the poll.

He completed acquisition of Twitter in October.
