Nepal: records 899 new cases of COVID-19, tally stands at 39,460

Kathmandu/UNI: Nepal's Health Ministry on Monday reported 899 new cases of coronavirus infection from across the country, taking the national tally to 39,460.

During the same period the country also recorded 7 fatalities due to COVID-19, taking the death toll in the country to 228.

The ministry said in a statement that of the 899 people who tested positive for the disease, 303 are female while 596 are male, The Himalayan Times reported.

They further added that that as many as 588 people tested negative for the infection as per the Ministry’s latest data. So far, 21,410 people have recovered from the disease in the country.

At present, close to 18,000 people have been kept in isolation in various parts of the country while the number of those in quarantine is 7337.
