Mexico second deadliest country in the world, says Trump

| | Jun 23, 2017, at 03:45 pm
Washington, Jun 23 (IBNS): Mexico is the second deadliest country in the world according to US President Donald Trump, who wants to put up a fence along the US-Mexico border.

Trump has also named the deadliest country in the world, Syria.

Without giving a  source of his findings, he tweeted about the same. But Trump's claim about Mexico could be based on a International Institute for Strategic Studies survey that  found that 23,000 people died last year in Mexico owing to its narcotics turf wars, according to media reports.

Trump said that the booming drug trade is the reason for the latest rankings.

Stating that he will build the wall, his tweet read, "Mexico was just ranked the second deadliest country in the world, after only Syria. Drug trade is largely the cause. We will BUILD THE WALL!"
