KP Sharma Oli on Monday took oath as the Prime Minister of Nepal during an event at the president’s residence in Sheetal Niwas, Kathmandu.

President Ram Chandra Poudel administered the oath of office and secrecy to Oli who began his fourth term as the PM of the Himalayan nation.

The President appointed Oli as the PM on Sunday.

President Poudel appointed Oli as Prime Minister on Sunday as per Article 76 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal, reported The Himalayan Times.

Oli became the PM after his party forged an alliance with the Nepali Congress and withdrew support to the government led by Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

On July 12 Nepal witnessed a change in its political paradigm when Pushpa Kamal Daha, chairman of the Maoist Center, failed to win the vote of confidence in the House of Representatives and was ousted as the prime minister.
