A young woman was allegedly raped in Pakistan’s Chenab Nagar after being lured to a house by a man who promised her a job.

According to reports, the victim had first come into contact with the suspect through social media. The accused allegedly claimed he was an expatriate seeking a maid to care for his mother, who was said to be living in Chenab Nagar, reported Dawn News.

He reportedly offered her a lucrative salary, persuading her to meet him.

The suspect is said to have picked up the victim in a car and taken her to a house near Sharif Manzil on Sahiwal Road, according to Dawn News. During the journey, three other men allegedly joined them.

Police said the main accused raped the woman at gunpoint, while the accomplices locked the room and stood guard outside.

The victim was released after the assault.

A case has been registered, and police have launched an investigation into the incident.
