Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) emir Sirajul Haq asks Pakistan govt to recognise Taliban govt in Afghanistan

Islamabad: Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) emir Sirajul Haq has asked Pakistan PM Imran Khan-led government to  accept the Taliban government in Afghanistan.

He even predicted that the relationship between Pakistan and Afghanistan will strengthen in the upcoming days.

He was quoted as saying by Dawn News that the international community, particularly the Muslim world, should cooperate with the Taliban to bring peace and prosperity to the country.

“The victory of Afghan people is the victory of faith and passion for freedom over technology and power,” he said while talking to the party leaders at Mansoora on Monday.

On August 15, the Taliban entered Kabul.

President Ashraf Ghani resigned and fled the country to prevent what he described as bloodshed that would occur if militants stormed the city.

Many countries have since started evacuating their citizens and diplomatic personnel from Afghanistan.

Anti-Taliban demonstrations are taking place in different parts of the globe.
