Guatemala: 21 people die in road mishap

Guatemala City/IBNS: At least 21 people died when a bus and truck crashed in Guatemala on Saturday, media reports said.

At least seven children were among the dead and 11 people were injured, according to a statement from the country's Public Ministry, reported CNN.

The crash occurred near the town of Gualán in the department of Zacapa, the statement said, about 168 kilometers (104 miles) from the nation's capital, Guatemala City, reported the American news channel.

The cause of the mishap is still not known.

According to media reports, the drivers of the bus and the truck were detained following the incident.
