| @indiablooms | Aug 07, 2024, at 09:55 pm

At least two people died and several others were injured after a hotel partially collapsed in Germany's  Kröv region on Wednesday.

More than 200 emergency personnel are currently at the spot to rescue those trapped under debris.

A man and a woman have died, and three people are trapped, Trier Police was quoted as saying by CNN at a news conference on Wednesday.

One of the bodies has not been recovered so far.

Some trapped people were reportedly able to contact police over phone.

As the ceilings of the hotel have collapsed, police said, a core drill is being used from above to try and access the people in the rubble.

The cause of the collapse is still not clear.
