Fox News Channel cameraman Pierre Zakrzewski and Ukrainian journalist Oleksandra 'Sasha' Kuvshynova were killed close to war-hit Ukraine's Kyiv city when the vehicle in which they were travelling came under attack.

Ukraine has been invaded by Russia for the past several weeks.

"This has been a very difficult day for the Fox News family because two of our coworkers died in Ukraine. Cameraman Pierre Zakrzewski and journalist Oleksandra 'Sasha' Kuvshynova. They were working with correspondent Benjamin Hall outside Kyiv, when incoming fire hit their vehicle. Benjamin was wounded, and is in the hospital, Pierre and Sasha did not survive," TV host Bret Baier said during an emotional tribute on Tuesday’s edition of "Special Report" as quoted by Fox News.

Sasha was just 24 years old and was serving as a consultant, helping crews navigate Kyiv and the surrounding area while gathering information and speaking to sources, reports Fox News.

Zakrzewski, who covered nearly every international story for Fox News during a storied tenure, was only 55 years old, the news channel reported.
