Cairo, Mar 1 (Sputnik) Egypt's Prosecutor General Nabil Sadek ordered to arrest six suspects in a train crash at a railway station in central Cairo, which resulted in a deadly fire, for four days as the investigation into the incident is underway, local media have reported.

On Wednesday, the train derailed and crashed into a platform at the Ramses station in the Egyptian capital. The collision caused a fuel tank blast and was followed by a major fire, which spread over the train and the platform, killing at least 20 people and injuring 50 others. Sadek said on Wednesday, that the crash might have been caused by a quarrel between the drivers of two diesel locomotives.

Those arrested in the case included the drivers of the two locomotives, their assistants and technical staff members, the Masrawy news outlet reported.

According to Sadek, the driver of the crashed locomotive left the cabin to argue with the driver of another locomotive. The train started to move uncontrollably and eventually hit a bump stop and an extension of the main building of the Ramses station.

Police detained the driver of the crashed train on Wednesday evening in the province of Menoufia, north of Cairo.
