Dhaka, July 1 (IBNS): A leader of Liberal Democratic Party was detained at Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka city after seven bullets were found from him, media reports said.

LDP Secretary General Redwan Ahmed was detained for carrying the bullets into the airport without notifying the authorities about it on Monday, the airport’s Aviation Security Forces Director Nur Alam Siddique told bdnews24.

Redwan Ahmed was expected to fly to Chattogram at 7:15am on a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, reported the news portal.

While the scanning of the bag at the airport was being held,  security officials detected the bullets with a magazine.

“The airport authorities handed him to police after initial interrogation for carrying the bullets in his bag without prior declaration. He said he has a licensed gun,” Siddique told bdnews24.
