Covid-19: Death toll mounts to 3,035 in Bangladesh

Dhaka/UNI:  The death toll from coronavirus has reached 3,035 in Bangladesh on Wednesday as the country recorded 35 more fatalities to the disease in the last 24 hours.

Besides, 3,009 more people tested positive for the virus, raising the number of COVID cases to 232,194, Professor Nasima Sultana, ADG of the Directorate General of Health Services, said during a press briefing on Wednesday.

In the last 24 hours, 14,127 samples were examined and out of them 3,009 turned out positive for COVID-19. Apart from that 2,878 more people also recovered from the virus, taking the total number of recoveries to 130,292 in the country, she said.

Bangladesh reported its first three cases of COVID-19 on March 8.
