Colombo/UNI: Sri Lanka’s Foreign Ministry said Friday it expects Pakistan authorities to take the required action to investigate and ensure justice following the brutal lynching of a Sri Lankan national in Sialkot, Pakistan, by a mob of frenzied Islamic zealots over allegations of blasphemy.

The Sri Lankan Foreign Ministry said it has received reports of an alleged incident of torture killing and burning of the body of a Sri Lankan in Sialkot, Pakistan, said Sugeeshwara Gunaratna, Spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry.

“The Sri Lanka High Commission in Islamabad is in the process of verifying the details of the incident from the Pakistan authorities,” he added, newsfirst.lk reported.
