Washington: US President Donald Trump on Thursday slammed China and said Beijing will "pay a big price"  for the COVID-19 pandemic.

Trump sent out a strong message to China by posting a video on his Twitter page.

"China is going to pay a big price for what they have done to the world," he said.

The disease spread from China to the rest of the world as nations are struggling hard to end the destruction it is causing to human life.

Trump gave the message just 50 hours after he returned to the White House from a military hospital where he was treated for the deadly virus.

The disease has left  1,054,674 people dead.

The virus infected 36,077,017.

The US is the worst-hit nation in the world.
