Canada: Seema Shah to contest election for position of school board trustee

Brampton, Sept 27 (IBNS): Seema Shah, an entrepreneur, will contest an election for the position of school board trustee for wards three and four in Brampton, Canada.

Shah, a local resident of wards three and four, is also a director at Kick Start Therapy.

She provides services to children with speech and language disorders.

Speaking about the election, Shah said: "As a mother of two and my love and passion for children, I have decided to run for the position of school board trustee which will allow me to help students of all ages reach their fullest potential."

She said her focus would be proper allocation of funding for advance academic excellence of students; active engagement of students to craft policies in accordance with the ministry of education guideline; optimise teacher/student ratio; inclusion and funding for children with special needs; focus on equal opportunity for every student; professional growth and development of teachers and support staff.

The voting is scheduled to be held on Oct 22.

Advanced voting will take place on Oct 2-4, 6, 9-11 and 13.
