Canada: Patrick Brown's fate in Ontario PC leadership will be decided today

Toronto, Feb 21 (IBNS): Resigned Ontario Progressive Conservative leader Patrick Brown's bid to run for the party leadership in the next election will be decided on Wednesday, media reports said.

Though Brown had resigned from his party after he was alleged to sexually harassing two women, he jumped into the leadership race taking all to a surprise.

A party nomination committee will decide on Wednesday whether the 39-year old will be able to continue his leadership race.

However, Brown seems to be stubborn in his decision as he skipped the Ontario legislature early this week for campaigns to regain the leadership post.
Saying repeatedly that he has cleared himself from the party, Brown said it is the people who have encouraged him to join the leadership race.

The allegations were brought by two women in an interview with CTV News.

Both the women alleged that Brown had ill-treated them.

Reportedly, one of the accused had later changed her stance.

Brown's former girl friend Mikaela Patterson, in an interview with CBC News, has rubbished allegations made by one of the two accusers, media reports said.

Patterson has rubbished the allegations made by the then university student who had accused Brown of sexual ill-treating her following a Hockey Night in Barrie Charity game.

The accused had said Brown had forced on her when she visited the then PC leader's bedroom.
