A Buddha Air turboprop passenger aircraft veered off the runway while landing at Bhadrapur Airport in eastern Nepal on Friday, the airline confirmed.

The flight, coming from Kathmandu, was carrying 51 passengers and four crew members. All aboard were reported safe, according to the airline.

The aircraft, identified as flight 9N-AMF, is an ATR 72-500 turboprop.

The plane overshot the runway by approximately 200 metres and came to rest near a rivulet, sustaining minor damage in the process.

Technical and relief teams have been dispatched from Kathmandu to assist at the site.

Authorities said the incident is under investigation, and airport operations may be temporarily affected.
