Barack Obama vows to destroy ISIL, urges Americans to not treat US Muslims differently

Washington, Dec 7 (IBNS) Expressing his grief over the San Bernardino shooting that took place a few days ago, US President Barrack Obama has vowed to destroy ISIL, as he termed the recent attack an act of terrorism designed to kill innocent people, here on Sunday.

As more evidence is surfacing about the attackers' alleged link with ISIL, Obama reassured the Americans of damage control.

In a tweet by the White House, The POTUS wrote: "The threat from terrorism is real, but we will overcome it. We will destroy ISIL."

He however urged his people to not spread hate crimes against Islam, as Obama said that the ISIL do not represent Islam.

"ISIL does not speak for Islam. They are thugs, and killers—part of a cult of death."

Obama also called for truce and urged his people to not treat Muslims in the US differently.

"It is our responsibility to reject proposals that Muslim Americans should somehow be treated differently."

The POTUS also said that the US and the international community will overcome terrorism with its continued operations.

He said that America will also combat terrorism by means of training provided to other people to take on ISIL.

Stressing on a person's basic right to freedom, Obama said, "Freedom is more powerful than fear."
