Bangladesh: Train-bus collision leaves 10 dead in Joypurhat

Dhaka: The collision between a train and a bus in Bangladesh's Joypurhat area on Saturday left at least 10 people killed and six others hurt, media reports said.

The mishap occurred inPuranapoil area at 6:55am on Saturday.

Train communications with the northern regions have been suspended due to the accident, reports Dhaka Tribune.

The gateman at Puranapoil railgate failed to lower the gate when the train Uttara Express, coming from Parbatipur upazila, Dinajpur, was passing through, the newspaper reported.

The injured people were taken to Joypurhat District Modern Hospital for treatment.

Senior officials have reached the spot after the mishap.
