Dhaka, May 10 (IBNS): At least one person was arrested for allegedly raping a minor in Bangladesh's Chandraganj upazila, media reports said.

The incident took place on Thursday afternoon when Belal Hossain, a neighbour of the victim, took the girl to his room after alluring her of giving chocolates and violated the girl, Abul Kalam Azad, officer-in-charge of Chandraganj Police Station told The Daily Star.

Local people reportedly rescued the minor after she was heard screaming.

She was taken to  Sadar Hospital.

Police later detained Belal from the area, he told the news paper.
