Bangladesh: Key Gulshan restaurant attack mastermind arrested

Dhaka, Jan 14 (IBNS): A key mastermind behind the Dhaka restaurant attack has been arrested.

The mastermind has been identified as Jahangir Alom alias Rajib alias Gandhi.

He has been sent to eight-day remand by a Bangladsesh court.

He was arrested on Friday night by security forces from Tangail.

Gandhi was arrested in Tangail last night in a drive conducted by members of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, CTTC unit Chief Monirul Islam told The Daily Star

Militant attack at a restaurant in Dhaka on July 1 last year had left at  least 20 hostages killed.

The victims included foreign nationals.
