Bangladesh: Ansar member shot dead by unknown men

Dhaka/IBNS: Unknown men shot dead an Ansar member in Bangladesh's Jeshore area on Saturday, media reports said.

The victim was identified as  Hossain Ali Torafdar, 55.

He is a special member of Ansar Battalion in Dhaka.

The victim Hossain Ali Torafdar, 55, a special member of Ansar Battalion in Dhaka, went to his village home at Hashimpur village for three-day vacation, Mainul Haque, superintendent of police (SP) in Jeshore told The Daily Star.

Haque told the newspaper that he was gossiping with some local people in a shop when the attack took place.

“All of a sudden, a group of unknown assailants opened four to five rounds of bullets targeting Hossain, leaving him dead on the spot,” he told the newspaper.

The attackers fled from the spot after the incident.

Police went to the spot and recovered the body.
