Bald eagle escapes from Ontario zoo

| | Jan 26, 2017, at 04:05 am
Toronto, Jan 25 (IBNS): A bald eagle escaped from an Ontario zoo in Canada after someone broke in and cut a large hole in a fence, media reports said.

Gordon John, acting manager of Chippewa Wildlife Park, said he was worried for the health of the eagle who been in captivity for its whole life and had never flown great distances.

He believed that some intruders on Thursday night  broke the lock off the door to the enclosure where two eagles lived.

John said the remaining eagle had been crying out for its missing mate.

The zoo had put out food just outside the cage with the hopes of luring back the eagle.

John said they filed a report with Thunder Bay police about the break.
