Manama/UNI: Bahrain on Monday confirmed its first death due to the deadly coronavirus, the country's Health Ministry said.

"A 65-year-old citizen succumbed due to COVID-19," the ministry said.

The deceased was administered by round the clock treatment by a specialized team of doctors under the set medical protocol.

The ministry further said that all the other COVID-19 patients are currently in stable condition and are being treated as per World Health Organization (WHO) protocols.

Bahrain has so far confirmed over 140 positive cases of coronavirus who are currently receiving medical treatment.

According to local media, out of the total positive cases in the country, one patient is said to be critical.
