Afghanistan: Suicide bombing kills 5

Kabul, Aug 23 (IBNS): Suicide bombing hit Lashkargah area of Afghanistan which left at least five people killed and 42 others injured, media reports said on Wednesday.

Provincial police chief, Brig. Gen. Abdul Ghagfar Safi, told Afghanistan's Pajhwok Afghan News the explosion took place at around 11am. “Afghan soldiers receiving salaries form Kabul Bank were targeted by a suicide attacker.”

According to the Afghanistan news agency report, three women and two ANA soldiers were among the dead.

The injured people were rushed to hospital for treatment.

Taliban militants have claimed responsibility for the attack.
