Afghanistan: Security officials arrest key member of Haqqani terrorist network

Kabul, Aug 14 (IBNS): During an operation conducted in Kabul city of Afghanistan, security officials have arrested  a key member of the Haqqani terrorist network, media reports said on Wednesday.

The Ministry of Interior (MoI) said in a statement that the Special Forces of the Afghan National Police conducted the raid in the 9th district of Kabul, reorted Khaama Press.

According to the statement, the detained person was identified as Sardar Mohammad alias Khalifa Daud.

Furthermore, the interior ministry said Sardar was responsible for facilitating the supply of weapons, munitions and military kits to Taliban and other militants, reported the news agency.

Taliban and Haqqani network have not commented on the issue so far.
