Kabul, Nov 12 (IBNS): An explosion ripped through the largest US military base in Afghanistan's Bagram on Saturday morning, reports said.

The explosion is feared to have accounted for US soldiers, though the number is yet to be verified.

The explosion took place at 5:30 am local time, according to a NATO-led Resolute Support Mission statement.

"We can confirm that there was an explosion at Bagram Airfield this morning just after 5:30 am. There have been casualties. Our Force Protection and Medical teams are responding to the situation. As we get more information, we will release it," the statement read.
