Afghanistan: At least five policemen killed in Taliban attack

Kabul, Feb 17 (IBNS): At least five policemen were killed in Afghanistan's Zabul province by Taliban insurgents.

According to local Tolo News, the insurgents attacked a police check post in Mullah Din area of Qalat city on Saturday.

The outlet quoted officials as stating that the militants decamped with police weapons.

Meanwhile, a Taliban heroin lab was destroyed by a drone strike conducted by the US forces in western Farah province of Afghanistan.

At least eight militants were killed during the air raid.

"According to the police officials, the heroin lab was located in Ashkan village and around one thousand kgs of drugs were also destroyed during the raid," the state-run Khaama Press reported.

The Taliban is yet to issue a report for both the incidents.
