Kabul, Feb 10 (IBNS): Afghanistan's  Ministry of Interior (MoI) on Sunday said police stopped a terror attack in Kabul city with the arrest of a suicide car bomber who was planning to launch an attack in the capital.

"A suicide car bomber who was planning to launch a suicide attack in Kabul City but before he could reach to a target, Logar Police acted quickly and was able to arrest him in the vicinity of Logar province last night," read a statement issued by the department.

Afghan National Police had prior information that a vehicle carrying explosives would enter the city.

The timely discovery of the explosives has foiled terror attack and saved the city from an expected tragedy, read the statement.

Discoveries such as this one demonstrate the ever-increasing capability of Afghan National Defense and Security Forces to protect the civilians from indiscriminate IED attacks, the statement added.
