33 displaced civilians killed in US airstrike in Syria

| | Mar 22, 2017, at 08:50 pm
Damascus, Mar 22 (IBNS) : At least 33 displaced civilians were killed in an airstrike on a school in a Syrian town held by Islamic State, The Times reported.

The reports quoted the  Syrian Observatory for Human Rights as saying that  the US-led coalition was behind a strike in Al-Mansoura, north of Raqqa, in the early hours of  Tuesday.

“We can now confirm that 33 people were killed, and they were displaced civilians from Raqqa, Aleppo and Homs,” said Rami Abdel Rahman, head of the UK-based organisation.

“The school that was targeted hosts nearly 50 displaced families.”

The coalition said this month that offensives in Syria and Iraq had inadvertently killed at least 220 civilians, but some monitors dispute this figure.
