BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari’s PA shot dead in Madhyamgram on Wednesday night
In a shocking incident, the personal secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Suvendu Adhikari, Chandranath Rath, was shot dead in Madhyamgram on Wednesday night, triggering fresh political tremors in West Bengal, media reports said.
Initial reports said the victim was attacked at point-blank range after being followed for a while.
According to local TV reports, the driver of his car also received injuries.
The miscreants, whose identities are yet to be ascertained, fled the spot after the attack.
The killing comes at a time of heightened political tension in the state following the recent Assembly election results, in which the Bharatiya Janata Party registered a major victory.
