Panaji, Nov 12 (IBNS): The first music festival to kick off the tourist season in Goa this year, Oktoberfest Goa 2014 ended on a high note and lived up to its reputation of being one of the biggest home grown music festivals in the country.

Already into its fourth year, the three-day event marked the first big music festival in Goa during the tourist season, which conventionally begins in October and winds up in March and sees over three million tourists visit the sunny shores of Goa.

The three day, high octane music festival, featured some of the best DJs performing live from across the country and abroad. Setting the party beat along the coastal belt of Baga were popular artistes Firebeatz, Gregori Klosman, Matisse & Sadko, Marco V, Tristan Garner, and Arston as headliners at the musical extravaganza.

The impressive line-up of artists from India included Abhishek, Pritesh, Sartek and Zedan among others including Ajit Pai, Usman, Rinton and Mackenzie from Goa.

Organized by Goa based event management agency Bullseye Entertainment, Oktoberfest Goa 2014, Festival Director, Munna Ruknuddin said, “This being the fourth edition of Oktoberfest Goa, we couldn't be more proud to bring this home grown event to our state. Each year, we always promise to be bigger and better and this year was no exception."

The EDM scene has seen a sharp rise in popularity in the Indian sub-continent in recent years.

Added Munna Ruknuddin, “ International artistes are interested in performing in India because of the growing interest and large fan-base in the country. In the recent years Indian has seen artistes from all over the world coming to India for individual performances and festivals,"

Dutch EDM sensations Firebeatz set foot in India for their very first gig in India. Commenting on the Indian audiences said the Firebeatz duo, “We had heard a lot of great stories about Oktoberfest Goa and about the reaction of the Indian audiences. It feels exciting to be a part of this festival. We love the Indian crowd and hope to come back here again.”

“Asia and India in particular is drawing attention from international artists. There’s also a lot of talent in India," said French DJ, producer and label owner Gregori Klosman who recently announced the signing of Indian DJ Sartek  to his new label.

With some of the biggest international names in electronic dance music performing, the fourth edition of the music festival was bigger and better with the after parties drawing crowds too. The popular Café Mambo’s at Baga hosted the Oktoberfest post parties where music lovers grooved till dawn to the tunes of Kash Trivedi, Lost Stories and John 00 Fleming among others.
