Varanasi: Aurora over the Ganges

May 21, 2016, at 08:55 pm

One of the oldest cities of the planet, Varanasi, is situated between the confluences of Ganges with Varuna river and that of Assi river. Regarded as one of holiest places in the country, the city is filled with different hues. The dawn, for an instance, brings along itself an aurora, which is a natural electrical phenomenon characterized by the appearance of streamers of reddish or greenish light in the sky. During dawn, the city witnesses some stunning colours over the Ganges. Morning prayers by the pilgrims are common along the ghats where they welcome the sun over the mystic river.
