Defence Ministry issues formal govt sanction letter for permanent commission to women in Indian Army

New Delhi/UNI: The ministry of defence has issued the formal Government Sanction Letter for grant of Permanent Commission (PC) to Women Officers in the Indian Army, paving the way for empowering Women Officers to shoulder larger roles in the organisation.

New Delhi/IBNS: Hailing the Supreme Court for granting equal status to women officers with their male counterparts, Army chief Manoj Mukund Naravane on Thursday called the verdict as "enabling" clarifying that the force never discriminates its officers on the basis of religion, caste or gender, media reports said.
