Shillong: Kolkata CP Rajeev Kumar reaches CBI office to face Day-3 quiz

Shillong, Feb 11 (IBNS): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) resumed interrogating Kolkata Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar at its Shillong office since Monday morning for the third consecutive day over his alleged role in destroying and tampering with evidences in chit fund scam cases of West Bengal, officials said.

Mamata Banerjee withdraws dharna over CBI action against Kolkata top cop

 Kolkata: West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday evening withdrew her dharna (sit in protest) against the "misuse" of CBI against the state. She earlier claimed as a moral victory the Supreme Court order on the CBI-West Bengal government standoff in which the apex court said Kolkata police commissioner Rajeev Kumar can be quizzed in a neuteral place in Meghalaya but cannot be subjected to any coercive action like arrest.

Kolkata, Feb 5 (IBNS) : Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday met Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata at her "anti-CBI misuse" protest venue to express his solidarity with the West Bengal Chief Minister as a slugfest goes on between the Bengal govt. and the Centre over the CBI attempt to interrogate Kolkata police commissioner Rajeev Kumar.
