Parliament Session: Rajya Sabha adjourns sine die, Citizenship Bill and Triple Talaq Bill lapse

New Delhi, Feb 13 (IBNS) : In a major development, the Rajya Sabha was adjourned sine die on the last day of the budget session on Wednesday which resulted in the lapse of the much-debated Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2019  and the Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Bill, 2018.

New Delhi, Feb 13 (IBNS) : The Rajya Sabha was adjourned sine die on the last day of the budget session on Wednesday resulting in the lapse of the much debated Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2019  and the Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Bill, 2018.

Citizenship Amendment and Triple Talaq Bills to lapse if not passed by Rajya Sabha today

New Delhi, Feb 13 (IBNS) : The Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2019, seeking to grant citizenship to minorities from few neighbouring countries seeking refuge in India  and The Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Bill, 2018 for abolishing the triple talaq system,  will lapse if  they do not get passage in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday, the last day of the Budget session.
