Centre allows inter-state movement of stranded people amid anti-Covid lockdown

New Delhi/IBNS: Amid the nationwide anti-Covid-19 lockdown, the central government on Wednesday allowed all stranded migrant workers, pilgrims, tourists, students with no Coronavirus symptoms to head back to their home states.

Kolkata/IBNS: Hours after Mamata Banerjee on Monday purportedly said 'home quarantine' for Coronavirus patients is the ideal situation presently, the West Bengal Health Department has clarified in an order that COVID-19 positive cases have to be 'mandatorily' brought to designated hospitals while the primary and secondary contacts can be in home isolation.

Kolkata/IBNS: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday said 'home quarantine'  for COVID-19 patients is the ideal situation presently for those with space at home to isolate themselves, and the world is following the same 'model.' However, there is a confusion on whether she meant the Covid-19 positives or those in their families or in close contact in the same house. But later a Health department order said home quarintine is for the primary and secondary contacts of the Covid-19 positive person and not the patient himself.
