Flood-like situation develops in West Bengal

Kolkata, July 26 (IBNS): After the Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) released 2,03,100 cusec water from several of its dams in Jharkhand and West Bengal due to incessant rainfall till 3 pm. on Wednesday, mainly villages in nearly 106 development block areas in 15 district of Bengal have been submerged, reports said.

Inter ministerial central team takes stock of Assam flood situation

Guwahati, July 24 (IBNS) : An inter Ministerial Central team, comprising 7 numbers of high level officers of different Ministries to be headed by V. Shashanka Sekhar, Joint Secretary, Union Home Ministry, will visit Assam from July 25 to July 28 to assess the recent flood situation and erosion affected areas of the State.
