Darjeeling unrest: GJM says its activist killed in Mirik after police open fire on protesters

Darjeeling, Jul 18 (IBNS): One activist of Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) was allegedly shot dead after the state police and the CRPF allegedly fired bullets aiming at Gorkhaland supporters during a clash between GJM and state's ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) supportersin Darjeeling's Mirik area on Monday late evening, reports said.

Darjeeling, June 9 (IBNS) : Two persons were injured when an under-construction building was set on fire during a 12-hour general strike, called by the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha, in the Darjeeling hills on Friday in protest against introduction of Bengali as a subject in schools.
