Somnath Chatterjee (1929-2018): The Communist who defied the apparatchiks

A Communist who had rebelled for a cause, Somnath Chatterjee would be remembered as a Lok Sabha Speaker who stood his own when he defied his own party to bring  dignity to the office of Speaker with his non-partisan role. Chatterjee lived an eventful political life. The journey came to an end at a Kolkata hospital on Monday. Suffering from kidney-related ailment, Chatterjee passed away at the age of 89.  IBNS flashes back to capture the highlights of his life...
