SC directs Gujarat govt to pay Rs 50 lakh compensation to Bilkis Bano

New Delhi, Apr 23 (UNI/IBNS) In its interim direction, the Supreme Court on Tuesday  asked the Gujarat government to pay a compensation of Rs 50 lakh to Bilkis Yakub Rasool, also known as Bilkis Bano, who was gang-raped in 2002 during the post-Godhra riots.

New Delhi, Jul 11 (IBNS) : Dismissing the appeal of two doctors and four policemen the Supreme Court on Tuesday upheld their conviction by the Bombay High Court in connection with the 2002 Bilkis Bano gang-rape and murder of her family members case, reports said.

Mumbai, May 4 (IBNS) : The Bombay high court on Thursday upheld the life imprisonment of 11 convicts in the gang-rape and murder of Bilkis Bano, committed during the post-Godhra Gujarat pogrom while rejected their death penalty as demanded by the CBI, media reports said.
