Russia always stood beside India as friend: Modi to Indian community in Moscow

Moscow, Dec 24 (IBNS): Amid huge 'Modi-Modi' chants clubbed with a grand felicitation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday addressed the Indian community in Moscow while making a strong pitch for India-Russia ties which according to him go beyond politics, diplomacy, trade & commerce and stated that Russia has always stood beside his country as a "friend."

Your Excellency President Vladimir Putin, Members the Media, Let me begin by expressing my deepest condolences on the loss of lives in the terrorist attack on a civilian Russian aircraft and in the unfortunate downing of the military jet in Syria. In this moment of grief and challenge, we stand in solidarity with the people of Russia.
