Govt to increase onion supplies to prevent prices from skyrocketing during festive season

New Delhi: The government is set to increase the supply of onions in retail markets to stabilize prices during the upcoming festive season, Moneycontrol reported, citing a senior official from the Consumer Affairs Department.

New Delhi/IBNS: In order to reduce the price of wheat and atta, the Centre has decided to reduce the reserve price for the sale of wheat under the open market sales scheme from Rs 2300/Qtl (Pan India) from Rs 2350/Qtl (Pan India).

New Delhi/IBNS: Twenty-five lakh MT of wheat will be offered for sale starting from the first week of February (1st February, 2023) under Open Market Sale Scheme (Domestic) or OMSS (D), the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution said on Friday.
