World Cup: India win toss, bat first against Netherlands

| @indiablooms | Nov 12, 2023, at 08:16 pm

India won the toss and elected to bat first against the Netherlands in the last league match of the ICC Men's World Cup Cricket at Chinnaswamy Stadium here on Sunday.

Notably, India is fielding the same team, in contrast to the expectations of Ravichandran Ashwin, Ishan Kishan and Prasidh Krishna getting a chance in today's listless match.

The Netherlands also is fielding the same team.

India have been dominant in this World Cup, winning all eight encounters in the tournament, while the Netherlands have pulled off two wins against Bangladesh and South Africa.

From the tournament's point of view, this match is a dead rubber, but for the Netherlands Champions Trophy qualification is still at stake. A win against India would place them in seventh spot, and help them qualify. But to beat India will be an herculean task as they have not been beaten in this tournament so far.
