Virat Kohli (49*) and KL Rahul (25) are trying to stabilize the Indian innings after the hosts lost three quick wickets against Australia in the World Cup final match at showpiece Ahmebad's Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday (November 19, 2023).

Rohit Sharma provided India with a quick-fire start by hammering 47 runs.

Shubman Gill departed early by scoring 4 runs.

Starc picked up his wicket to give India an initial jolt.

Skipper Pat Cummins dismissed Shreyas Iyer (4) to put India under pressure initially after the five-time champions won the toss and invited the home side to bat first.

In his sparkling 31-ball knock, Sharma hammered four boundaries and three sixes.

Maxwell removed the Indian skipper to halt the speed in which the home side was making runs.
