Virat Kohli smashes fighting 153 runs, India bowled out for 307 runs
Centurion, Jan 15 (IBNS): Indian skipper fought back to play a memorablr 153 runs knock under pressure to help India score 307 runs all out in their first innings ont he third day of the ongoing second Test match against South Africa here on Monday.
India ended 28 runs behind South Africa's first innings total of 335 runs.
Kohli hammered 15 boundaries in his magical knock.
R Ashwin added 38 runs with his willow.
India resumed from 183 runs for the loss of five wickets on Monday morning and it was Kohli who came down with a purpose.
He batted sensibly to help India reduce the gap with South Africa's mammoth first innings total.
After Hardk Pandya (15) was run out,Kohli and R Ashwin joined to form a partnership of 71 runs which helped the visitors at a point when India was looking to get dismissed early, giving a big lead to the hosts.
However, the two Indians defended strongly and used the right balls to play shots which helped in reducing the lead.
Experienced Morne Morkel picked up four wickets for South Africa.
